International performances 🌍

The internationalization of the PPEGEP/PUC-Rio has become one of the program’s strategic pillars, as reflected in the active participation of faculty and students in research projects with international collaboration and funding, double degree initiatives, student and faculty exchange programs with foreign higher education institutions, awards and recognitions from scientific societies and international journals, and direct involvement in committees, scientific societies, and editorial boards of globally impactful journals.

📌 FACULTY INTERNATIONALIZATION

The program’s faculty members have a prominent international presence, as demonstrated by awards and distinctions granted by renowned institutions and scientific societies. Recent achievements include recognitions and awards from scientific societies such as the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) and the Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association, as well as from high-impact indexed journals such as Production Planning & Control, Journal of Sensory Studies, International Journal of Production Economics, and Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management.

In addition, faculty members maintain a strong formal presence in international research institutions and organizations, including scientific societies such as IEEE, the Production and Operations Management Society, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the International Institute of Forecasters, INTI, and the Global Manufacturing Research Group. They also actively participate in organizing and scientific committees of major international conferences in Production Engineering, as well as in the editorial boards of widely circulated and high-impact indexed scientific journals.

Finally, in addition to frequently serving as advisors for international funding agencies, faculty members have also held positions as professors and researchers at various institutions across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. In these roles, they not only lead research projects in collaboration with international colleagues but also carry out work missions, supervise master’s and doctoral students, and teach courses abroad.

📌 INTERNATIONAL OUTREACH AND INSTITUTIONAL ACTIONS OF THE PROGRAM

The PPEGEP/PUC-Rio has strengthened its international presence through various formal strategic collaborations with renowned institutions, such as the University of Münster (Germany), Universitat de Barcelona (Spain), University of Manitoba (Canada), Aalto University (Finland), Oxford (England), and Georgia Institute of Technology (USA), promoting faculty and student exchanges (in both directions: Brazil → abroad & abroad → Brazil), joint projects, and shared courses and supervision.

The program’s involvement in research funded by international agencies, such as NASEM (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, USA), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Wellcome Trust (United Kingdom), demonstrates its global impact in socially significant areas such as humanitarian logistics, disaster resilience, health, and sustainability.

In addition, PPEGEP attracts foreign researchers for postdoctoral fellowships, hosts visiting professors, and has expanded dual degree and co-tutelle agreements, enabling integrated academic training. The offering of courses in English, the participation of international professors in master’s and doctoral committees, and the organization of international events such as the IPSERA Conference, IJCIEOM, TAI, and SOMA—all held at PUC-Rio—further reinforce the global visibility of the program.

A) PARTICIPATION IN GRADUATE PROGRAMS IN INTERNATIONAL NETWORKS
